J.R., Vice President of Human Resources, joined after serving as Senior Director of Human Resources for the surgical medical device business at Alcon, a division of Novartis. During his six years at Alcon, J.R. played a significant role not only in the company’s spinoff from Novartis, but in other acquisitions happening at the same time.

Prior to Alcon, J.R. held multiple leadership roles in the Human Resources departments at Novartis Oncology and Novartis General Medicines in the U.S. and Europe as well as Google and Honeywell. His experience spans the many facets of Human Resources, including compensation, employee relations, mergers and acquisitions, staffing, organizational and talent development, team dynamics, and performance management.

J.R. earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois.
